Who We Are
Prevention Partners for Youth Development (PPYD) is an Onondaga program that offers Youth Development training, consultation, technical assistance and evidence-based research to culturally and organizationally diverse groups and individuals that work with young people including:

  • Community Based Organizations
  • Families: Parents, Guardians and Youth
  • Schools
  • Government Organizations: County Departments (Mental Health, Aging & Youth, DSS, Probation, Parks, Libraries)
State Agencies: Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS), Board of Cooperative Education Services (B.O.C.E.S.),
Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS)
  • Faith Communities
  • Funders (United Way, Local Foundations, State & County Agencies)

PPYD envisions a community that nurtures youth who are connected, caring, committed and competent.  This vision becomes a reality through the development of a local youth services system that practices collaboration, focuses on prevention, maximizes resources and strengthens the ability of organizations and communities to nurture and guide youth.
